Review: Good Things Deep Pore Anti Blemish Cleanser

Hi there!

A bright and early post from me today, it’s apparently summer so I thought I’d get in early with this very fruity and summery cleanser from ‘Good Things’.

Good Things is a brand that I have funnily enough, heard good things about. But having never tried a product from them I didn’t know this for myself and just had to believe the hype.

Whilst picking up presents for an American friend (for a swap) Boots conveniently had a 3 for 2 deal on skincare so I obviously got something for myself in the ‘free’ part.

As I’m on a ban this was debatable as to whether I’d broken it…but as it was free and I ensured this product was cheaper than the ones I was getting for a friend I considered it acceptable…do you agree??

What shocked me most was the price of this one!

The Good Things Deep Pore Anti Blemish Cleanser costs only £4.99 for the 200ml bottle, which I thought was very reasonable at the time.

After researching more about the brand and finding out it was created by Alice Hart-Davis, a very popular and influential British journalist specialising in skincare who decided to create her own brand for teenage skin (and older people obviously…my teenage years were a little while ago now!) making it affordable, effective and containing super fruits. I mean how much more perfect can she get?!

The products are all ‘Free From’ including SLS, parabens, animal ingredients and mineral oils which is a big thumbs up from us and they all also contain super fruit extracts to help with problems such as irritation, environmental damage and hydration.

You can see the full list of ingredients here, I was so impressed and have made a mental check list for my next shopping trip!

I was a little overwhelmed at the beginning when looking at the products as there are a few to choose from but they are easy to read and work out which ones you need. I didn’t think i actually needed anything which was my main problem, but some nights when I’ve been out running the hot water to cleanse my face in my normal routine just isn’t going to happen, but I can’t argue with a quick wet wipe and a swipe of this across my face can I!

The first thing I noticed when I used this product was the smell.

OH MY GOODNESS.

I challenge you to use this and not want to drink it. It smells like the most exotic cocktail ever to grace the planet and my aim in life is to now find a cocktail that smells like this, and hopefully tastes as good too!

082

I just poured a little of the cleanser onto a cotton wool pad and swiped it all over my face to remove my make up. It feels cooling on the skin and the smell takes me to a ‘happy place’ of holidays and sunny weather, which means it’s an absolute joy to use. It’s so gentle on your skin and doesn’t feel like it’s stripping it at all, there’s no tight feeling afterwards.

Even after cleansing with my usual cleansers, hot water and a cloth I’ve applied this cleanser and still some product comes off which just goes to show it can be so hard to remove all make up sometimes and it’s good to have an extra step in your routine like this, as this counts as a toner too.

The added bonus is, this product also controls sebum levels and helps declog pores too. It’s like the holy grail of cleansers!

Even though this is a cleanser for young skin, I have absolutely loved it and the effects it’s had. I’ve rarely had any spots since using this cleanser and my skin remains mostly blemish free.
In fact, I’m so impressed for the price I will definitely be repurchasing…….if only so I can smell it all the time!

Trust me you need to go and have a sniff in store next time. You can pick this up from Boots, Superdrug and Sainsbury’s so look out for the best deal!

Have you tried anything from Good Things? What do you think of the smells of their products?
