Storybook Cosmetics: Wizardry and Witchcraft Palette

Hey all

We can’t wait to share today’s post with you, as we mentioned in the first look post (you can read that here) we couldn’t wait to receive our palettes and they didn’t disappoint!

Not only is the packaging amazing the attention to detail is really there! We love the book design, huge mirror and the little quote under the mirror.

With this palette it wasn’t cheap so we really wanted it to be worth it, with things like this there is always the worry it won’t live up to what we saw online, the swatches online looked amazing so we were really hoping they would be as they have amazing colours. The palette contains 12 shades and a mixture of matte, metallic and pearl shades, as well as the bright shades it has some amazing bold colours! I love the fonts they’ve chosen for the shades too.

After seeing the final shades I had to have the palette as after losing my amazing Mac Cranberry shadow (which I won’t repurchase as Mac isn’t cruelty free) my collection has been missing red so I was most excited for the red.

As you can see the colours and product didn’t disappoint in performance!

Here you have Broomstick – a matte warm brown, Sorcerer – an amazing metallic bright red and Cloak – a matte grey.

Potions – is a bright metallic green, Prophecy – a slight pearl white and Salem is a pearl finish warm pewter shade.

Merlin – is another of the amazing bright shades and is a bright metallic blue, Bewitched – is a metallic warm gold and Cauldron is a pearl finish charcoal black.

The last three are Spell Book – which is a pearl finish red toned brown, Charms – a matte pink peach shade and Jinx – a metallic silver colour.

We’ve both loved playing about with the palette and trying out shades we wouldn’t necessarily always use.

Here I’ve used prophecy over the lid, broomstick through the crease, potions onto of broomstick then jinx over the lid. The colours are all easy to work with an blend out well. I of course used my wand brushes which I shared here.

For me I also love using different colours as liner, here is Merlin as winged liner. It’s such an amazing bright shade!

The formulations of all of these are great, the white isn’t as pigmented as the others but is great to apply all over the lid before others.

The look above uses Sorcerer and Bewitched to create a halo eye look, as Mia mentioned above the colours blend so easily and these look really good blended together and also blended out.

I also did another one using a variety of shades which you can see above and below. I used Salem on the whole lid, with Broomstick on the outer corners. I added Jinx for an inner corner highlight and then Merlin on the lower lash line for a flash of colour.

The blue is a beautiful colour and really pigmented as the swatches above show but the colour doesn’t show up as well in these photos for some reason! So I’ve showed with my eyes closed and open for you to see all the colours.

The colours are really beautiful and can blend with each other really well as the photos above show, the only small disappointment would be Prophecy. The colour looks great in the pan and is useful for helping to blend but it isn’t has pigmented as the other shades so does show up as a weakness.

What do you think of the palette? Which is your favourite shade?

What are your thoughts on fandom inspired make up? What palette would you like to see?
