Bottomless Lunch, Cocktails and Cider in Bristol

Back in October we finally (and I mean FINALLY) met up with the lovely Sophie (Sophie Rose) and Laura (previously Lola and Behold, now Laura Kate Life)

We’ve known these ladies from the very beginning of The CSI Girls, which is actually 6 years old this week – Happy Bloggerversary to us! We’ve spoken regularly on Instagram and Twitter with these ladies for the entire duration of this and we all thought it was about time we met up as rarely a day goes by without some kind of social interaction. So we picked a day in October and it happened!!

Bottomless Prosecco Aquila Bristol

We had the BEST day planned and decided to meet up in Bristol for the day as it was sort of in between us all. We started with some bottomless lunch in Aquila.

We’d heard good things and as soon as we arrived for our 2 hour slot we got stuck into the prosecco and chatted like we’ve met up hundreds of times before! It was such a funny atmosphere because we were one of the later slots so the restaurant was full of hen parties and groups of females who were already smashed at 3pm, having heart to hearts, singing and crying together so it was a very emotional situation.

We all chose our food and naturally me and M shared – we get too envious of each others food so if you’re a long term reader you will know that we always go halves like a couple would!

The prosecco certainly was free flowing and we all drank a fair amount over the 2 hours but we managed to walk out with our heads held high so round of applause for us. The rest of the ladies we saw weren’t so successful so we were quite proud, if only we’d known what was to come.

We felt like we needed a few classy cocktails to continue our evening and the chats were only just beginning!

We ventured upon the Clockwork Rose who had a few seats free at the bar so we ordered some random cocktails from their menu and watched them being made. It was like magic (if not super expensive and very strong magic…) and we took a fair few photos and selfies whilst we got pretty tipsy.

Basically we had a blast! It was like we’ve known these girls all our lives and meet up all the time, not that we’ve never met in person before this day and we chatted about all sorts; life, travel, beauty, guys and everything else in between. No doubt the prosecco and cocktails helped, so we thought we’d have a quick trip to the Cider Boat as well!

I’ve always wanted to go to the Cider Boat as it’s such a feature in Bristol and it didn’t disappoint. There were a few different types of ciders available, we all tried different ones and they were really good. We also all very much enjoyed the dogs that were allowed on the boat, imagine 4 intoxicated girls surrounding an excited little white ball of fluff called Dylan! The photos say it all…

We had such a great time and me and M feel like we’ve made some really good friends, how awesome is it that you can make such good friends over the internet and through hobbies like blogging?!

We’ve just this week booked a weekend away together near Salisbury, we’ve got a cottage and we’re planning some more prosecco and face masks with some country walks and sightseeing – who knows what it will be like but we know it will be a lot of fun!!

Have you found new friends through blogging? Have you met up with them in person and had such a great time you knew you’d have to arrange another meet up shortly after?

We can’t wait to meet up with these ladies again and start 2018 the right way!
