Lush Haul

I’m never sure what to think when others put up haul posts, sometimes I think it’s an excuse to show how much money you have to spend on things you don’t need…but then why shouldn’t you buy what YOU want with YOUR money?! Maybe that question is a whole post in itself!

I realised I’d bought a few things from Lush in the last few weeks and what other word was there to call it but a haul? I’ve really been enjoying using them all as they aren’t products or scents I have tried before so I wanted to share my thoughts.

Something I was really excited to try out was the Naked Shower Gels. I’ve had a few shower gels from Lush before but hadn’t tried these nor the scents.

The Snow Fairy scent is hugely popular and I’ve never been sure because it’s so strong and so sweet. But I was gifted this at the Lush Spa Cardiff store before Christmas at their event so I had the opportunity to try it.

I actually really liked it, and this surprised me. It’s such a strong scent that these normally overwhelm me but when using the shower gel itself I didn’t find it strong at all.

In fact I liked how the scent lingered and how I could still smell it on me later on.

I like the idea of less packaging and think creating products like this are a great idea. As I haven’t tried that many shower products from Lush I don’t have any particular feelings towards an existing product, whereas I’ve heard some pretty negative comparisons between the original liquid shower gels and their solid counterparts.

I’m happy to purchase products with less packaging, anything to reduce plastic waste is a great idea by me!

I also picked up the same product in Twilight, which is another winter special. The scent on this one is the same as the original, based on tonka and lavender so I figured would be perfect for using in the evenings after gym sessions.

I really liked this one too and I’ve been impressed with how well they’ve lasted. They barely look like they’ve been used, and although I have been using the two of them at the same time amongst 1 other, they’ve had a solid 2 months of use so this is really impressive.

£8.75 for Snow Fairy, and £9.75 for Twilight.

Oatifix is a fresh face mask made from bananas, illipe butter, oatmeal, ground almonds and kaolin. It has an exfoliating base to help remove dead skin and leave skin feeling softer and more moisturised.

As with all fresh face masks I keep it in the fridge and it’s lovely and soothing on the skin. I do find it’s quite thick, so putting it on my skin can be quite difficult to spread it without dropping bits all over the floor – it went all over the bathroom floor even when I was careful!

However my skin felt softer and hydrated after using it, and the smell is comforting to me so it’s one I would buy again.

Oatifix is £7.50 for 75g.

I picked up two body conditioners as I hadn’t used them before but couldn’t resist the naked packaging and the limited number of the festive scents. This plus the fact that I am SUPER lazy with moisturising and my skin is starting to show this over the colder weather.

I thought this would help me in my quest for hydrated skin and combat my laziness!

Christingle is another product I haven’t used before but I don’t have a reason why, it’s a mint sensation and something I absolutely adore so on this occasion I should give myself a slap across the wrist. It has such a gorgeous scent and a lovely menthol tingly feeling but also makes my skin feel amazingly soft afterwards. I’m gutted I didn’t pick up more of this whilst it was around, I’m going to have to find another substitute until winter rolls around and I can stock up!

I also picked up Buck’s Fizz for the same reasons, but this scent was citrus based. These two have been my favourite products based on the fact the scents are my absolute faves (citrus and mint are amazing!) but also they have single handedly saved my skin from going without moisturiser whilst it has been too cold to hang around in the bathroom and apply normal lotion.

Both of these products are in my opinion, a little pricey. They are around £9-10 (can’t confirm as I don’t have my receipt and they’re off the website now) but they don’t last very long. I really like them but they disappear before my eyes thanks to the hot water in the shower so this would be my one complaint about them. Otherwise I need more!

Lush Christmas Haul

So there you have it, my recent Lush haul. Have you tried any of these products? Do you have any recommendations for my next solid body conditioner?

I’ve tried to look on the website and can’t see any more…..I do get frustrated with Lush sometimes having different things in different stores and nothing about them on the website!

Store exclusives are great…but put them on the website so we can actually see them and know they exist right?! I don’t expect to be able to buy them all online but I’d like to know whats out there to encourage me to go elsewhere.

What would you like to try?
