Perfume

I don’t know about you, but I absolutely LOVE spritzing on my favourite perfume before I walk out the door.

I’m also pretty sure that most girls have a favourite perfume, and then one or more other perfumes as a back up, for a change etc etc!

Why have one all the time when you can shake things up a bit right?! Variety is the spice of life after all…

Personally I am an absolutely massively monumental fan of Jean Paul Gaultier’s Madame.

It’s expensive yes, but personally I believe it’s worth every little penny.

Firstly let’s look at it…

I like the simplicity of the bottle, it still has the signature female body shape incorporated into the design but in a rectangular shaped bottle.

Also I’m a big fan of the pink colour on the bottom, which seems to be reflected up through the bottle and through the perfume itself which is rather cool!

It smells mostly of an orangey citrusy scent which reminds me of my favourite Cosmopolitan cocktails. It also has rose, grenadine and a musk/cedar wood base (which means absolutely nothing to me but ho hum!)

I first smelt it in Paris at the end of a travelling expedition with a friend, and ever since it reminds me of the Parisian department stores, getting ready to go out with my friends and every body knows its my smell. Which is kind of weird and obsessive but it could be worse eh?

So anyway, that’s my favourite perfume which I would choose primarily, but wearing it around the house and popping to the shop seems frivolous…so I tend to try and balance it out by wearing one of my others.

For Christmas my mum got me the MaDame Eau de Parfum, which I had no idea existed but seems to be a more grown up version of the original. It’s almost a bit more manly in smell, but even so I do still like it quite a bit! The bottle looks like it’s been caught in a fire and has been burnt, which I think is awesome!

Without wanting to bore you too much I have a few others that are lurking in drawers and displayed on my desk purely for their looks!

First is Lady Million by Paco Rabanne which is my ‘back up’ perfume, closely followed by Naughty Alice by Vivienne Westwood. I love both of the names of these two, who doesn’t want to be a lady of millions?? Who isn’t drawn in by the story of an inquisitive girl who falls into another world through a rabbit hole??

The scents of them aren’t bad either!

What I like most about these two is the fact that their scents aren’t too over powering, but they do last the majority of the day which can be hard to come by in a perfume sometimes.

I was bought the following two for Christmas one year. I feel a bit bad for never having used either of them that much, but the scents aren’t really to my taste.

However, the feeling of owning a Chanel product overruns that guilt pretty quickly!

The iconic shape of Jean Paul Gaultier’s Classique also helps the guilty feelings as they both look so beautiful on my desk!

So there you have it, all of my perfumes displayed to the world!

Do you have a favourite perfume and a few back ups like me?

Hope you enjoyed the post 🙂
