Cocktail Hour!

Guess what…………it’s the weekend! Whoopee!!!

Phew this week has gone so fast 🙂

This week’s cocktail is the classic Sex on the Beach, super easy and refreshing.

I haven’t had one of these in FOREVER but every time I see it on a menu it reminds me of being on holiday in the evenings; beautiful sunset, warm sands and ice cold cocktail in hand, with an umbrella of course 😉

So for this weeks drink you will need a highball glass (a short and wide glass), ice, 2 measures of vodka, 1 measure of peach schnapps and 3 measures each of orange juice and cranberry juice.

Basically, all you need to do is pour this into your cocktail shaker, shake it up with the ice, and pour the contents into your glass to enjoy! Simple!

If you want to make it a bit snazzier, I personally like it when the 2 juices are kept separate.

So you could mix the alcohol and orange juice together and shake it up with the ice, pour it into a glass, and as the cranberry juice is heavier you can slowly pour this into the glass and it will sink creating an effect as in the photo below:

You can garnish the drink with an orange slice if you like, I think they always look good with some fruit and an umbrella!

This is a classic cocktail in my view, it’s so easy to make with ingredients that anyone can get hold of and most people like.

It’s also classed as an ‘International Bartenders Association Official Cocktail’ which clearly means it’s at the top of its game 😉
