I’m back with another skincare review today – I’m totally obsessed and it seems to have taken over from make up recently. Though I’m sure this will be temporary!
I went to a Kiehls event when the new Cardiff store opened around Christmas time last year, you can find the post here. I picked up the Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Oil Free lotion at the time and have been using it a lot since then, especially recently now the weather has got warmer again!
This lotion is really lightweight and non-greasy, and is oil free, paraben free, fragrance free and colourant free.
It contains Imperata Cylindrica Root Extract, Antarcticine and Vitamin E to keep skin healthy and looking fresh. It also claims to help to retain moisture for a healthier skin barrier.
It costs £26 for the 125ml bottle.
I’ve been using this lotion throughout the week every morning, and it’s a lovely thin consistency. The lotion is really light and my skin drinks it up.
The fact it is oil-free is great for me, I have an oily t-zone that gets shinier and shinier throughout the day. Using this has definitely helped to keep the oil at bay and stop it from getting shiny as quickly, and definitely doesn’t feel heavy on my skin at all. Some products that are oil-free can feel like they are drying but that isn’t the case with this one at all.
I’d definitely recommend using this product if you have oily skin, it’s possibly the best oil-free lotion I’ve used and it has lasted so long.
The only downside for me is that they aren’t fully cruelty free. They don’t test their products on animals but they do sell into China so they allow their products to be tested on animals for the market there. So it depends what your stance is on this and how important it is to you. Personally I won’t repurchase for this reason but I would absolutely love it if they did resolve this because their products are wonderful and I’ve loved every single one of them!
