I’m pretty sure everyone who owns a liquid lipstick will own from NYX….am I right or am I right???
If you don’t own one of the Lip Lingerie products then I’ll be surprised as they are just so popular! However I actually don’t own any because I just can’t get on with the formula as it’s so drying.
Cue the Liquid Suede effect that I tried about a year ago now, and I’m obsessed with the suede finish instead of the matte finish. It was a win/win situation for me as I love the finish plus there is a huge colour range! I’ve got a post coming up soon on this so I’ll just stick with this beauty for now, the new Metallic Matte range.
The website says:
Wrap your lips in high-impact metallic colour with Liquid Suede Metallic Matte, a striking new lip inspired by our best-selling Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick. Available in 12 statement-making shades, these shockingly creamy lippies deliver instant dimension and incredible colour payoff. In other words, get ready to slay.
So first off, the packaging. These look exactly the same as the Liquid Suede products, but underneath the main product name there is a small bit of text stating the additional ‘Metallic Matte’ finish. I like that you can read the colour name and number easily, and see the colour inside the tube. It makes it easy to grab in a rush when you’re looking for a specific colour.
I couldn’t resist the colour Biker Babe, its a dark metallic red which will hopefully be perfect for the party season.
I love all kinds of red lipstick but a liquid lipstick is perfect for Christmas parties thanks to the fact you can put it on, let it set and then it pretty much stays without much effort in reapplying – or at least that’s whats happened in my experience. They’re pretty robust but I have relatively small lips so normally go for a cream/shiny finish so that it gives the impression of being bigger!
The Metallic Mattes have a finish that is obviously metallic but also matte….but also not as matte as the others as it is a Liquid Suede product. Confusing right??
I’ve been wearing this on a few occasions recently so have copied some selfies below:
I really like the finish and the colour, I think it’s surprisingly wearable considering it’s metallic and I would have expected it to be for nightwear only. There’s definitely a shift from all the matte finishes to some metallic and glossier finishes again, which suits me just fine!
These are priced at £7 and there are a total of 12 shades including a variety of neutrals plus a purple and a grey because that’s the in thing now don’t you know…. I bet they’d have made epic looks for Halloween!
Have you seen these in store? Will you be trying any??
I loved this one, am tempted to see what Modern Maven (dusky pink) and ACME (red) look like when swatched too!
What’s your favourite finish for a liquid lipstick? What kind of red lip will you be sporting this winter?
