Friday evening we were invited to a preview of the new vegan cafe opening in Cardiff. If you’re long term readers you’ll know we’ve both been mostly vegetarian this year, and have been enjoying trying new veggie and vegan recipes. So we were particularly excited to hear about a new cafe opening and couldn’t resist the invite to see Blanche Bakery before it opened.
Blanche Bakery have had a few pop ups around Cardiff before settling on a permanent location thanks to crowd funding. This is such a great idea for start us and it must be great to visit the place knowing you have helped. Blanche Bakery actually have a picture on the wall with the names of those who have helped to fund them, which we thought was great!
The decor in general is great, we both loved it. It’s very minimalist with white walls and succulents arranged on shelves, but then there’s a section of the wall covered in greenery and a gorgeous pink light. We loved this light! It’s so bright and beautiful, and true….caffeine rules all!
We loved hearing all about how the bakery has grown and this sign here is the names of the people who made it possible from a crowdfunding appeal! Such a great little touch!
It really felt like every aspect had been so we’ll thought out! The coffee machine is such a cool touch and is actually a manual machine from Spain, the guys are currently waiting for there’s to arrive so this one is borrowed!
They have thought of everything and hope to feature artists and their info on the cups with the design changing each month! Who needs a festive cup when you can have a pretty cup all year round!
The first time I had tried tofu and really enjoyed it was Bali! It really makes a difference how it’s prepared and the guys at blanche really know how to make it delicious! L and I were both totally sold it had an amazing texture and flavour in the Jamican sandwich!
Also if you head down soon definitely try the festive one as that is delicious!
As well as sandwiches to sample there were also cookies!! These didn’t disappoint, everything tasted delicious and even if you aren’t vegetarian or vegan it’s definitely a place to try
We were treated to a delicious box of cakes to take away so of course L and I set ourselves up a little festive tea party!! The cinnamon spiced was amazing, so much so my rabbit stole the wrapper and ran away and proceeded to eat it!!
We always love catching up with other great Welsh bloggers too at events and it was lovely to chat to Becky from Dose of B. She has the most gorgeous photography on her blog!
Thanks for inviting us guys, everything was delicious and we’ll definitely be back soon!
Love L and M
