Review: The Body Shop Drops of Youth – Youth Essence Lotion

If you’re a long term reader you will know how much we absolutely love The Body Shop Drops of Youth Range.

We’ve previously written about the range in general here and also the Youth Liquid Peel. Recently I saw the Youth Essence Lotion and couldn’t resist picking it up in the recent winter deals.

I stocked up a lot when I picked up the Drops of Youth concentrate last time, so I was excited to get a bottle in the new packaging since they updated it – you know I love a bit of pretty packaging!

So what do the Body Shop say about their product?

‘A unique gel-to-water liquid care, the essential first step after cleansing to prepare skin for the next steps of the routine. Skin feels instantly smoother and replenished with moisture. Infused with a potent blend of 3 plant stem cells.’

From this I understand the lotion to be a pre-serum, and my skin has been needing the extra hydration in the colder months so I couldn’t wait to get and try it.

I have been using this in combination with the Drops of Youth concentrate for the last few weeks. I’ve been using it morning and night and have noticed how much more hydrated my skin has been. It’s been really soft and although I’ve had a few hormonal/illness induced breakouts my skin hasn’t been dry which is something that can happen easily.

It melts in my hand and absorbs into my skin really quickly, so there’s no waiting around I can just apply the concentrate on top and get on with my normal morning routine which is great because I’m always running slightly late….I’m not a morning person!

In the evening I do the same and layer up my moisturisers and masks so my skin gets the biggest hit of hydration to soak up overnight. It works a treat for me and I’ve been questioning why I haven’t bought it sooner!

The Drops of Youth range has been an eye opener for both of us, we absolutely love every product we try and we hope they continue to add to the range.

The Youth Essence Lotion costs £15 for 160ml, but it is lasting me very well at the moment so I don’t expect I’ll be buying another any time soon.

What’s your favourite product from the Body Shop? Have you tried the Drops of Youth range?

I have always religiously used Body Shop products, but this is one that I am yet to try, although I may have to give it a go in the new year! xHan | lifewithhan.blog
