Laguna Health and Spa have recently switched salon brands to Espa and as it’s cruelty free I was pretty excited to hear this! We were lucky enough to be offered to try out some of the treatments so couldn’t wait to test them out.
Laguna Health and Spa is located in the Park Plaza Hotel in Cardiff and has a beautiful swimming pool, sauna and jacuzzi, as well as a great gym (which used to be my gym and I really miss those classes!)
Since I’ve last been the spa area has had a refit and looks great, the wood in the main reception area has been lightened and looks light and airy! On entry you get given a robe and slippers which I love with treatments as it’s nice to just relax in after!
The rooms and relaxation areas all have these gorgeous candles around and the attention to detail is great!
This time I opted for the Espa Body Wrap, this isn’t a treatment I would normally choose and decided it would be great to try out something different and I wasn’t disappointed. The Body wrap is a 50 minutes long and costs £49.
As I hadn’t had a body wrap before I wasn’t sure what to expect fully. The therapist was great and explained the treatment and asked if I was happy with everything. The treatment is a full body treatment and you wear paper pants for it but at no point did I feel uncomfortable, the bed has the wrap underneath and a towel to cover you up and half the body is done at the time to keep you warm.
It starts off with a full body brushing, I should do this more as it’s meant to be great for helping cellulite and improving the skin. Next up is a body scrub, the Espa scrub smells amazing of peppermint so smells and feels amazing on the skin. This is then all rubbed off with warm cloths, after this is mud is applied and then you are wrapped up in the plastic and towels placed over to keep you warm, while the mud works it’s magic you get a scalp mask, this felt so nice and relaxing. After showering off the mud, oils are massaged into the body.
I loved this treatment, I felt so relaxed and my skin felt amazing for days after and I would definitely go for it again.
After the treatment I felt so chilled and decided to go for some me time in the relaxation area, it’s full of beds and more of the gorgeous candles and is a great space to relax in, this would be amazing for any hen parties or spa days with friends to chill out in if you don’t want to be by the pool.
