About Us

The CSI Girls is written by two girls who met at uni a few years ago doing a degree in Forensic Science

After reading blogs for a few years we decided to start up a blog together; a blog about beauty, travel, and lifestyle plus of course the odd cocktail post – who doesn’t like those!

We’re very much a fan of going out on an adventure and enjoying ourselves; were a sucker for a trip exploring new places and trying out new food and drink – we’re thinking tea and cake, prosecco brunches, dim sum and cocktails, pizza and cider…… we don’t discriminate.

The name for the blog came around when a friend referred to us as ‘those CSI girls’ and it just stuck from there onward! If you have any additional questions feel free to tweet/email us.

About L:

I’m Laura and I work for a scientific instrument company, I absolutely love learning new things and anything sciencey fascinates me! I’m lucky enough to travel for work occasionally so try to share my photos whenever I can.

When I’m home I spend my time going to the gym, reading and chilling out with a box set

I really enjoy going to the gym and completing fitness classes as I love the feeling of getting to the end of a hard workout.
I try and exercise as often as I can to combat my love for food, at the moment this is mostly by hiking, running and going to the gym. I am also really interested in nutrition and general health and wellness so spend a lot of time reading and researching about it. I don’t know where I would be without listening to Mind Pump Media’s podcast!

Apart from fitness I obviously enjoy food. It’s such a big part of my life I couldn’t not mention it in its own paragraph. I’m always hungry, I eat multiple times per day and love finding new (healthy) recipes to try. Food just makes me so happy! As well as cooking we both love finding new restaurants, cafes and bars to try locally so you will often find us having a catch up here.

My lifelong goal would be to travel the world with a fully stocked kindle and an endless camera battery and explore as much as possible.

About M:

I’m Mia, I’m a specialist biomedical scientist in Toxicology and love it.

Last year I went totally Cruelty Free in all beauty and home products and have gone vegetarian this year.

I’ve completed two tough mudders. I love the motivation it gives me and the sense of achievement at completing it. I also regularly kickbox and I’m at 3rd Grade.

As for spare time I love spending time with my friends and family and just going out doing things outside where possible. I also love to travel and plan holidays. I’m always searching for a bargain.

My hair regularly gets changed to a wide range of colours. I get bored easily and it seems to be what takes the brunt. I love getting new piercings and am forever thinking of the next one.

I love simple clothes that can be dressed up or down but for nights out it’s all about the glam! During winter I’m usually in knee high boots dresses and leggings and in summer the leggings and boots get switched for flip flops.

I also love a lazy night in. Chilling on the sofa with a film is bliss for me.

This blog is also hopefully going to justify our seemingly addictive behaviour for spending money on the latest must haves and pretty much anything and everything our eyes can spy!
