How to Protect your Hair from the Winter Weather with Paul Mitchell Tea Tree Lavender Mint

Brrrr it has been a little cold this week hasn’t it?? I don’t know about you but my skin and hair have not been enjoying it! The sudden drop in temperature has caused my skin to start peeling and my hair to feel dry and brittle. This amazing delivery of Paul Mitchell’s Tea Tree Lavender Mint products from Salon Success could not have come at a better time!

We’ve been super lucky again this year and were asked to be part of Salon Success’ Styling Society, you can find more of our posts by clicking here but we’re always honest about our opinions on the products we are sent so you can be sure we’re giving you good recommendations. It’s been hard because we genuinely have really liked all of the products in their range, but I think these from the Tea Tree Lavender Mint range might be my favourite!!

The Lavender Mint range is designed to help moisture starved locks and achieve soft and touchable hair by locking in moisture and fighting frizz, whilst also calming your senses with scents of lavender, tea tree and mint.

This includes a moisturising shampoo and conditioner, a leave in spray and a deep conditioning treatment.

The moisturising shampoo cleanses, soothes and replenishes dry and unruly hair. It contains amino acids to help with strength, shine and manageability as well as moisture rich conditioners.

The scent is one of my favourites I’ve ever tried in a hair care range, so I’ll try not to bang on about it too much. The lavender is really relaxing and as soon as I start washing my hair I feel better. The tea tree and mint make it refreshing and cooling, it’s a great combination and I regularly use it in my aroma diffuser now too!

The conditioner is hydrating, detangling and softening for thirsty hair. I tend to put it on and leave it for a few minutes or as long as possible before rinsing. The scent relaxes me so I try and leave it on for as long as I can for that reason too!

My hair feels great after using these two together and I can finally stop bitching about how horrendously dry it is! My hair is smooth, detangled and much more manageable day to day.

I’m not ashamed to admit that I’ve been spraying the leave-in conditioner onto my hair after washing it but also at random times in between. Without a doubt it smells fantastic and I keep sniffing my hair every time I use it but it’s so light that you can spray it on and it’s really hydrating but not too heavy it makes your hair greasy, winning combo.

It contains vitamin E and helps with shine as well as taming unruly strands, it’s so easy to spritz it on and then dry your hair as usual.

Lastly we have the Deep Conditioning Mineral Hair Masks, containing minerals from French clay to pack an extra moisture punch.

There are 6 sachets in the pack for those times your hair needs something extra, perfect for when you’ve been stuck inside with constant heating on or outside in the cold all day. I use these when I have my monthly indulgent bath and sit there in the hot water with a face mask on and this hair mask breathing in the soothing scents, but you can use these once or twice a week if you need.

What I like about this particular range is that even though it is hydrating and moisturising it isn’t too heavy, so I didn’t feel the need to wash my hair again after the mask was rinsed out like I do with other masks. Although my hair gets dry on the ends with being so long the roots can get greasy easily (and with dark hair who wants the greasy and stringy look?!) but I haven’t experienced this with this range.

The lavender eye mask was a lovely addition too, I’ve been using it recently as part of my sleep routine as I’ve been struggling with sleep. I’ve no issue getting to sleep but staying asleep is my issue, my brain just won’t switch off! It’s been a bit of a long process but using a lavender and tea tree pillow spray and this eye mask has been a great addition, so it’s all been helpful to get me to relax and empty my brain.
